Project Description

Bay Transit, a division of Bay Aging, completed construction on the Middle Peninsula Regional Transit Facility in Gloucester County. The building was completed in 2014 and houses operations for the Middle Peninsula region including Gloucester, Mathews, King & Queen, and King William counties, along with the Town of West Point. This facility is a two-story building just under 20,000 square feet with office/administrative space and two maintenance bays capable of servicing four (4) buses from our fleet at a time. There is additional space to house dispatching and scheduling operations, and a large training room area that is available for staff training and for limited use by public and local government organizations. the facility was designed to save operational costs through energy efficiency and environmental conservation.

The building is certified by the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED Gold facility based on its energy efficient design and construction.

Project Description

Awarded in September 2013, the 22-month project included plans for aisle expansions, added square footage to the sales floor and the receiving area, and upgraded equipment. Once completed, the commissary will see an increase of 18,000 square feet of shopping space. Despite these changes, the part of the project with the biggest impact on the community are the register upgrades said Russell Smith, Fort Eustis Commissary officer.

Norfolk Naval Shipyard abbreviated as NNSY, is a U.S. Navy facility located in Portsmouth, Virginia. Norfolk Naval shipyard is the oldest, most multifaceted, and largest industrial facility that belongs to the U.S. Navy. Specializing in repairing, overhauling, and modernizing ships and submarines.
While NNSY can dry-dock, overhaul and repair any ship in the U.S. fleet, it can also perform any technical, fabrication, manufacturing and engineering work your organization might need accomplished. The shipyard’s planners and shops are linked by state-of-the-art computer systems to permit computer-aided design (CAD) work, and automated information systems to provide quality services on time and within budget. In fact, NNSY is known for tackling jobs never before performed, and applying unique planning methods and work procedures through modern process improvements.
Currently, the shipyard is composed of several noncontiguous areas totaling 1,275 acres.
