Overview
Wolf employs some of the most skilled operators in the business. Small job sites have the potential to be the most complicated work areas simply because of the space limitations. Whether a large or small excavation, Wolf can handle the job accurately, safely, and with precision.
Site Clearing
Once your building team knows what’s required, they will attend the first stage of the excavation and trenching process: clearing the land.
There may be vegetation and trees growing on your site that need to be removed before building can begin. Excavation services will handle this and clear everything from the site. They may also assist with relocating any trees if necessary.
Do what you can to make the area accessible as possible. If that’s beyond your capabilities, make sure you let the excavating company know ahead of time what obstacles they may face. You should also move anything on the property that will be in the way, if at all possible.
We handle calling utility companies to mark out the utilities. Any private utilities (dog fences, private electric lines, etc.) should be marked by the homeowner if possible. Communicate with your excavation company ahead of time to determine who will arrange having the utilities marked.
Permits may or may not be required depending on the city or county of your project as well as the scope of work. Typically when having to dig deeply into the earth or clear land, a permit is required, however, this will vary based on the project. Working without a permit can cause serious fines and even get your project shut down.
How long it will take for Excavation will vary based on the project itself. The size of the project as well as the services and tools needed will also affect the amount of time it will take to complete the project.
Site Inspection and Building Plan
The first steps in any excavation and trenching project is a site inspection and developing an excavation and trenching plan. This will involve a visit to your building site to ascertain to what extent the land needs excavation.
An excavation and trenching plan also helps to prepare workers for the job and identify any safety hazards. This helps to ensure that the excavation of your site will go as smoothly and safely as possible.
Debris Removal And Clean Up
Landslides and mudslides are often out of your control and have the effect of leaving broken tree branches, rock piles, and debris on your site. In some cases, landslides or mudslides may even leave a chemical residue if they were in use on-site at the time of the slide.
This will all need clearing before you can embark on your project. Excavation is the best way to do so as it can remove debris and lift up the topsoil layer infiltrated with chemicals.
